Academic Strength in Support of Teachers

I have continually pursued further study and improved my understanding of pedagogy, even while teaching full time. I have a strong understanding of teaching that is rooted in both practice and advanced academic training. This gives me the credibility, authority, and confidence to defend teachers effectively and to ensure their professionalism and expertise are taken seriously.

University Courses Taught
(Non-Exhaustive)
"Having taught these university courses has kept me up to date on the newest ideas in education, and that knowledge helps me defend teachers by separating what truly supports learning from the latest board-driven fad that only adds more work to our plates."

I have continued teaching university courses, often in the summer, to stay ahead of current research and best practices in education.

Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in areas such as inclusive education, pedagogy, leadership, social justice, policy, curriculum, assessment, and educational technology helps me bring current knowledge directly into my union work. It strengthens my ability to defend teachers with credibility, insight, and a strong understanding of both research and classroom practice.
